HISTORY OF MISSION FOR CHRIST...

Mission For Christ was founded in 1971 by a Baptist pastor, Ernest L Gandy of Darlington, SC. Mr. Gandy had a burden to reach the lost for Christ. The public ministry was preaching in small group gatherings; reaching out to those in jails; nursing homes and tent meetings. There also entered the outreach of short wave radio in 1978. This is where the Lord brought me (Mary Hoffmeyer) into the Mission For Christ ministry. I began broadcasting from the island of St. Kitts, West Indies which had coverage across a wide area of the West Indies. For twelve years my broadcast was aired over Radio Paradise. Along with the broadcast, hundreds of Bible lessons were sent to those who requested them. In 1989 I broadcast for one year over shortwave Trans World Radio in Swaziland Africa. The year 1990 the Lord led me to the land of Israel where I broadcast over Voice of Hope for ten years. During those years, many Bible lessons and Bibles were sent to fill the request. Since then I have had the privilege of shortwave broadcasting into West Africa and currently broadcasting over World Harvest Radio with an outreach to North America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Our founder, Mr. Gandy was called into the presence of the Lord in 2006, and I consider it a privilege to be the servant to carry on the ministry which God birthed in our Brother's heart many years ago.
